Art Queen is a complex of 2 art galleries (AQ East, a converted garage, AQ West, a converted storage shed), one 1940s teardrop trailer which currently showcases Shari's speed sculptures (sculptures she made fast, inspired by Moby Dick's works).This is where you will also find the World FAmous Crochet Museum. There are also some apartments and shops on the grounds including Joshua Tree Music, The Coin Shop and Psychic Readings. Indy has his Joshua Tree counseling office here now and Shari and Randy both have studios here. Bob, who is the king of Art Queen also lives here and keeps everything in order in Art Queen. Oh, and we also have a cool stage.

Ann Magnuson of Joshua Tree and Los Angeles, her first paintings Owl "The New World" (2007) and her glitter painting "High Noon" (2006) and a lovely found object piece, "All Things Being Equal" (2007) made from a thrift store scale, mouse skull and her neighbor Blake's dogs droppings collected from her yard. Blake denies that was the doing of his dogs, now sun dried and covered in gold glitter by Ann.

Doug Newman carved and painted these Fishies from the foam of some sofa cushions he found on the street by his apartment in Los Angeles, CA. Fishies (7" long up to 21" long) are not for sale. Doug has decided to make a movie of them and I look forward to the movie. He is also still hoping to get his "Attack of the Giant Tapeworm" movie made.

Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde does some lovely things with found wood in the desert. These are for sale but I'd need to check with her on the prices. I think they start at around $300 each. bird: 11" x 31", skeletons and heart with thorns 11" x 24.5", bird feeder (with rusty cans and old wood) 13" x 16".

Works by Moby Dick who used to make art and sell it by the side of the road in Landers, CA, the small works on the table are on loan from Bob Fischer of Morongo Valley, CA. You can see more of Moby Dick's larger works in the Moby Dick Sculpture garden at Art Queen. We hear Moby Dick is now living in Las Vegas making his wonderful crazy sculptures, we'd love to find him if anyone knows his whereabouts.
Paintings by Monet Blair Starchild of Joshua Tree, CA. (sizes from left to right, sorry I don't have names for them,11" x 14", 5" x 7", 9" x 12"). These are not for sale but Monet is attempting to re-create one like the one on the far right again for Giselle and John Cashin from NYC.

Nicole Panter is an amazing woman: writer, feminist, political activist. She was involved in the early LA punk scene as the Germs' manager (you can see her in full glory in The Decline of Western Civilization), then wrote and acted for "Pee Wee Herman's Playhouse". She co-founded the Bohemian Women's Political Alliance and in 1994 Incommunicado Press published a wonderful book of her semi-autobiographical short stories entitled Mr. Right On and other stories.

the "artist." a lenghty show business/art/music resume including work
as a janitor in a porno store, substitute teaching, three years in an
inner city welfare office, seven years in one of the best record
stores in the world, restaurant work and making light bulbs in a cave
for a nickle apiece. eccentric banjo player who has two cds of his
own as well as featured appearances in doug stanhope's "deadbeat hero"
and the benifit cd "morbid obscenity" with stanhope, andy andrist,
lynn shawcroft( wife of the departed mitch hedburg), the amazing
arthritic sean rouse and mr. arthur hinty. spends most of his time
brooding and ignoring the beauty of his surroundings. this is the
first time his paintings have been shown outside of his apartment...
